By the creation of VIMS, I wanted to transpose my experience as an on-board video specialist at SONY, to the medical field.
Video is a wonderful passport to explore the different domains of professional activities: movies production, communication, events management, electronic surveillance, but also, the analysis of scientific video picture, the study one image at a time of the itinerary a lighting takes on the cabin structure of a flying plane, the development of a ‘’spatial’’ video equipment to be used by astronauts in conditions of weightlessness, recording of night flight on simulator, or submarine displacement…
The first steps in a surgery unit, in 1990, simply fascinated me!
Recording inside a human body without a big incision, without any scar, while reducing the post-operation trauma …
So I created the EndoVims, the first endoscopic camera cast in one piece, that was able to work without sterilization, without focus adjustment, because of its sterile single use cover and its on-board electronic at the distal part of the endoscope.
Since then, with this original solution, VIMS Company established itself in France as an alternative to the major German, American and Japanese and moreover remains the only French Company that also offers ‘’the solution’’ in rigid single use endoscopy.
Our philosophy? To place the surgeon at the heart of “operations” by ensuring a better rotation in the cycle of surgery, by reducing the institution’s operating costs and by increasing the security of the patient.
Many patents have been filed so we can keep our technological difference. The last report of the High Council of Public Health as well as the January 138th circular comfort us in this strategic choice.
Due to the tremendous work of my engineers and my staff, not to mention of course the renewed trust of our customers, we work every day to drive the endoscopic surgery forward.
